The link you provided is not an ATSC tuner/DVD recorder. It's NTSC.
The STBs (eg: Samsung DTB-H260F) are still cheaper than the cheapest -
with what gen chipset? - ATSC/DVR or HDR.

You are mistaken on both counts. A qoute from the link

"Item Description

The Philips DVDR3505 DVD recorder with TV tuner allows you to watch and
record HDTV programs like never before. Its built-in SDTV tuner receives
over-the-air digital broadcasts. There's no need to invest in a separate
HDTV converter box or HDTV receivers. Watch and record all your favorite
programming in perfect quality HDMI.

Featuring an i.LINK DV input for connecting to your digital camcorder, you
can now preserve all your personal videos on DVD. Plus, you'll record in
crystal clear Dolby Digital sound. Your recordings are guaranteed to play
back on any DVD player.

The everyday price is $169 at Walmart. Here's the Samsung receiver only
for $179 at Circuit City.

IMO, only a fool would buy one of these now to work with an SDTV. $50
converter boxes will be avaialble by 2009. One may also get the $40
government coupon for it. So again, I'll let the buyer decide which makes
more sense.:-)
