I live on Long Island, NY and was looking at a rooftop antenna.I liveProbably both. They seem to be still making adjustments. I live 25 miles
15 miles away from NYC. For some reason antennaweb.org does not list
WNBC-DT 4.1 as a station I can receive, but I can receive everything
else. If I punch in a zip code within 5 miles of NYC, it then shows I
can receive WNBC-DT. Does this mean it transmits a very weak signal,
or is this an error on antennaweb's map?
South of the Empire State Building, and CBS is always solid at about 90%.
NBC varies between about 20 and 65%. There has been an improvement in the
last month or so. Have you noticed when they advertise their weather channel
they tell you to tune to cable channel xxx, no mention of OTA 4.2. I have
found 0 information on their HD operations at the WNBC web site. No response
to email.
Not sure they are all broadcasting from the Empire State either. There is a
building 5 - 6 blocks NW of there with what looks like a lot of broadcast
antennas on top.
