How accurate is anenna.org? I am in Chicago and put my zip in and there
is no way in hell I can get Milwaukee or South Bend, I get Channel 7, 9.
23,26 and 38. 32 and 50 are bad but viewable.
Channel 11 was OK till the DTV Channel 11 from Lafayette IN started
brodcasting, Channel 11 is a mess now.
It seems to be more of a reference tool. So many factors can come into play
that there really is no way they can tell you what you actually may receive.
Going to the FCC's website and doing a direct search for your local tv
stations
and their digital counterparts (if any) will gave you access to the stations
coverage
maps. According to those maps, I should be able to receive 4 to 5 digital
stations
and almost all of the analog stations in the DFW area. I can only get 3 of
the analog
stations and am wating to install a bowtie antenna in my attic (with
booster) to see
if I can get the digital stations and hopefully, more of the analog stations
as well.
(cannot install right now as I have a broken foot and have to wait for it to
heal)
As others have stated here, the best thing to do is just give it a try and
see what
you get.
