analog modulation to digital. Congress wants to sell off the analog
frequencies.

The economics are such that OTA broadcasters are going to send out 5
SD channels, not 1 HD channel. They get 5 times the ad revenue that
way.

And don't forget, digital allows them to use the "broadcast flag" to
prevent recording that game, movie, or special event.

In 6 years of digital TV here in Dallas, not one station has switched from
HD to SD broadcast. And how is the broadcast flag going to stop me from
recording the show? I don't have DRM in my recorder.
