Not likely. If it is a mechanical obstruction in the light path it will
require significant dissassemble to get to it. Possibly the light tunnel
between the lamp and color wheel. I had this occur in another brand set
once. Not a common problem that I know of, but I do little work on Samsung.

I have a call into service and I'll let the group know what it was when
it's repaired so someone searching for a similar problem will have this as
a searchable thread and soloution maybe it's something simple that I could
have done by taking the bulb assembly out and blowing it off or something
similar?

understanding of how DLP works, a philips screwdriver, and a good pair of

Have service come out and diagnose the set, they should have equipment
to check the operations to see if it meets manufacture's specifications.

I have this TV and have a little problem with it, the left third of the
screen is darker than the rest of the screen during certain scenes. I
tried unplugging the unit as was suggested by another post I found and
that didn't do anything. It looks like something is blocking the light
from getting to the screen has anyone had anything like this happen? I'm
going to call for service but was wondering if this is a common problem
or a really rare thing?
