Insignia NS-27HTV 27" TV
My RCA 27" picture went out around day 3,040.
And facing fathers day with just sound I ran over to Best Buy to get a
new 27" Two tuner PIP TV! Well to make a long story short; NO DEAL!
So I decided to just get a 24" RCA for about $150 and shop for what I
wanted later; no saturday delivery so I moved up $20 and got a Insignia
24" w/ component inputs that could be delivered saturday.
When I got home and looked on the Best Buy websites I found the 27" on
sale $341, so I ran back to best Buy and with smiling faces they
upgraded me; and matched the website sale price for the NT-27"htd. [
$200.10 more]
[$341/ 4 year warranty / delivery /tax]
{I needed a print out of sale price}
I went home happy; and the guys came at 9am took the old set away and
put this Beauty in its place.
{I tipped them $10 for coffee, and it is now 8pm and I am still
smiling.
{No batteries or cables; so be ready}
It is a 4:3 but I have widescreen in the repair shop.
I used a HDMI to HDMI cable from a Comcast Phase 2 HD box to the TV.
The Motorola is set for 1080i/ Pan & Scan.
[Shut the box off and then press MENU, this will bring up the service
menu; make sure its set for 1080I and the Pan & Scan]
That appears to fit this TV set just fine. and the FORMAT button on the
remote will give more adjustment.
Use a good cable.
I used a HDMI to HDMI Cable (24AWG) w/ net jacket- Gold [$15]
@Monoprice.com #2283/3ft/$15 and also have the Comcast Component cable
in and the HDMI seams a little better?
{or is it that the # 2283 looks so nice?}
Remember in cable wire gauge size is every thing $$$ so if they do not
tell you the size; go with the one you know!
I am watching Cops now and the picture is Beautiful!
And the sound is good, but I normal use the Motorola's optical output to
a surround sound amp.
You know you are in a new age when the TV turns on the first thing you
see is a splash screen with the company logo appears, and then goes to
the last input/channel you were watching.
{like a computer}
Also with the Previous channel button you can toggle between the last
two inputs or channels you watched. So you can compare both the HDMI and
Component inputs yourself.
It can get over the air digital channels but I need to buy a antennae to
try that?
It also has a channel info program guide if delivered over the air in
your area [EPG] for the over the air digital channels.
It was Manufactured April 2006.
Happy Fathers Day
