Extended Warranty

Just bought the Samsung HL-S5087W 50" HDTV at Circuit City. In the end the
sales guy talked me into buying the 2 year protection plan for about $300
after he tried selling me on the 5 year. Stated that unlike manufacturer it
covered complete in home repair for 2 years including bulb and power surge.
I was told that manufacturer warranty only covered bulb for 30 days and no
in home service. At least thats the way I recall it though it was somewhat
confusing.
Is this protection plan worth it or not? I was told I can call within 30
days and cancel the plan and get a refund. I figure the bulb is likely $250
not?
