Yes, That is from the bad sheilding from the speakers. I saw this on the
display when I was about to purchase. I went for the toshiba since the
speakers are at the bottom and not the sides. But the wareenty will cover
this.
BS. These sets have no problem with shielding in the speakers. Toshiba
sets are jsut as likely to have this problem as Sony or others. It is a
purity problem that needs adjustment or an external magnetic field has been
placed near the set. It should clear up with repeated power on cycles after
cool down if it is the latter. If it is a purity issue that needs
adjustment you should call the local Sony ASC who has the most experience
with adjusting purity on CRT sets, if you have options for service in your
locale.
