Weather Channel sound is extremely loud, HDTV sound is somewhat low, other channels are fine. I live with it. However, I blame the commercials that are louder than the rest of the program content on the individual stations! The mute button or fast forwarding(if it's a recorded program) helps here.
Hello,
I have Comcast HDTV with the sound going through my audio system. The sound is fine on non-HDTV stations but the volume is about half as loud on all of the HDTV stations including playbacks. The surround sound seems fine.
I don't know a lot about audio but wondered if anyone might have a guess about why the sound gets lower on HDTV. It was equal at one point so I must have changed a setting.
Thanks,
Bob
Not uncommon. If the box has a setting for dynamic range, compression, or constant volume, or something similar, you might try adjusting it. If you have a newer, hihger quality SS receiver you may be able to preset the level for each input. I know you can do it on recent Yamaha units.
