Vizio L32 Problems

My Vizio L32 has completetly gone mad! Once the television is turned
on the volume climbs up to 100 and nothing else works except for the
power button. There is a picture but the controller does nothing and
everything is broken so to speak. What could this be? any help would
be appreciated.
