Am I OK with 86 degrees? Should I bother with an intake fan as well or am I
OK?

86 might be OK but I would try to get it lower with a bit more
circulation. I have a Samsung SIR-T165 set top box that I had to add an
internal fan because it would get flaky after being on a few hours.
This unit is not inside any enclosure, just sitting on a shelf. Don't
go crazy and try to refrigerate it but keeping it cool will help it to
last longer.
