Hi,
I have a real problem with sound on the HD channels. I have Brighthouse
cable
with their Pace HD receiver. To give an example of the problem, my
volume on my
TV goes from 0-100 on the screen display. On the lower and the non-HD
channels,
my normal volume level is around 20-25. When I go to the HD channels,
and they
are delivering real HD content, I have to up the volume level to 50-55
just to be
able to hear it without straining. Then, when a local commercial comes
on, it
deafens you. This is the on the network HD programing at night. The
other HD
channels like Discovery, INHD, HDnet, and TNT have the low volume
problem too, so
it is not just the networks. I can actually turn the volume up to 100
without it
being overly loud.
When I play a movie on the DVD player the volume is fine.
Any suggestions? I called Brighthouse once, but they just play dumb.
Thanks,
Sam
KNBC in LA has some audio issues similar to yours though not as severe.
The local spots during The Tonight Show will blow the doors off. KCBS
has about the same level as the load part of KNBC but all the time. The
other DTVs are more 'neutral' audio level-wise.
BTW, this is all OTA for me.
