Many of the shows and most of the commercials are being shot
with the new cameras which are of course 6 x 9. I would say that when
I watch networks, over 50% of the time I have bars on the sides or top
and bottom or both. My screen is 4 x 3 but I am watching HDTV when
ever there is a choice. I'm afraid Wes must be going thru life with
very small glasses or blinders. My world has always been widescreen.
Sounds like Wes was in his hayday when we had 14" round pictures on tv.
I wish they had gone even wider than 16 x 9. Maybe I am affected by
living in the west where you can always see large wide landscapes.
Maybe if I lived in New York I wouldn't want to see the edges. 16 x 9
1080P will dominate soon. Get used to it and enjoy it. It's wonderful
and those not seeing it are just plain missing out, and that's a fact.
