couple of weeks ago. At the time, I didn't have an HDMI cable, so I hooked
it up with component, and everything worked fine.
I ordered a 2-meter HDMI cable and yesterday I hooked it up. I was
surprised to discover that the audio was all messed up. The video worked
fine, but the audio kept cutting out. I'd get a few seconds of audio, then
it would go silent for a few seconds, then the audio would come back, etc.
I tried a few different channels, with no change.
Anybody have any idea what's going on? The image quality with the
component cables is just fine, but it sure seems dumb not to be able to use
the HDMI (if for no other reason, then to reduce the mass of cable
spaghetti).
I tried calling CableVision tech support, but beyond saying that CV doesn't
recommend HDMI, they weren't much help.
And, yes, to tie this in with another thread, I bought the $20 cable.
Also, look at some history in the google cablevision group. You
will have to join to post a question.
