HD Antenna Question

How does one HD TV, using an OTA antenna, work in one room and a
seperate TV/antenna not work in another room? I use indoor antennas:
Jensen & RCA.
I just recently bought a Phillips LCD HD ready set for the bedroom,
but it's having problems capturing any OTA signals and keeping them.
I would run the channel search feature on my TV, and it would find 41
OTA digital channels, and the next time I turn on the TV, they're
gone.
My living room HDTV has no problems with it's OTA HD channels.
It doesn't seem to matter which antenna I use in the bedroom, it still
has problems.
I'm not sure if my landlord allows any rooftop antennas, so if that is
my only solution, I'll have to ask.
I'm just confused as why one antenna works in one room and not the
other. I mean, it works and it doesn't.
Thanks.
