The best part of Survivor is the strategic game.

But the strategic game is often unrewarded by the jury.

Because a great strategic player who manages to boot most of the players
who end up on the jury will be facing a jury of resentful jurors.

(snip list)

On the other side of the coin, every one of those winners you listed,
will tell you that they had a strategy that worked to perfection.
We've known for quite some time that UTR players winning can be
construed as an issue by the more aggressive viewers.

So what's the correction? I find it difficult to accept the public
voting at large because, quite honestly, as a whole, I don't think
they're smart enough. Additionally how do you guarantee the
authenticity of the public vote?

Do you have say a three member panel of ex-Survivors that judge the
tribes that go to TC and pick out the weak links as far as strategy
goes? I don't think that works either. Survivor isn't perfect but I
don't put too much of an emphasis on the winner any more, I enjoy the
season as a whole and look forward to the blindsides and general
theater more so than who'll win.

The best answer would be to have a jury of the players who got booted
BEFORE the Merge. They don't have as much of a vested interest in the F3
because they were booted so early. In fact, many of them were booted by
each other.

That would be just about as bad as letting viewers be the jury. People voted
off before the merge would probably be even more bitter and would have no
idea of what happened in the game after the last jury member joined them.
The winner could end up being the person who was the best liar at TCs
because the jury would have no way of verifying what they are saying.
