I'm surprised that:
-Courtney, Westman, and Jerri agreed to appear. Tom has nothing to
prove, and will be a big target from the beginning. After her first
season, Courtney stated that she had no interest in playing again, and
I'm surprised that she changed her mind. And after Jerri's emotional
meltdown at the All-stars reunion show, I am surprised that she still
wants anything to do with the franchise.
This is Jerri's best shot at appearing before a mass audience. Her
acting career has been limited to small stock plays and rock concerts.
Jerri was an "aspiring actress" when she was accepted for S2 Outback,
and she's still aspiring now.
Sugar has had much better luck than Jerri. It also doesn't help that
Jerri has hit that age where the roles really start to decline.
Sugar was a working actress prior to being on Survivor, albeit small
parts. I heard (in here I think) that after her season she had landed
a small movie role and was dating some small-time producer...
Married him, for like 2 months, and hasn't worked as an actress in 3
years, since before Survivor.
Okay. I thought I heard something about her getting a movie gig
post-Survivor.
And I remember her 2-3 episode arc on Gilmore Girls, where she was
much thinner and much hotter than when she did Survivor, but I have no
idea how much time passed between that and Survivor...
That Gilmore Girls episodes where seven years ago, but she has worked
since then:
Sex and Death 101 (2007) .... Precious / Carlotta Valdes (#30)
Beyond the Quest (2007) .... Grazyna
Reconciliation (2006) .... Christina
Formosa (2005) .... Anne-Marie Silver
The Gold Necklace (2004) .... Kiki
"Judging Amy" .... Teenage Girl (1 episode, 2003)
- Just Say Oops (2003) TV episode (uncredited) .... Teenage Girl
"Gilmore Girls" .... Shane (4 episodes, 2002)
... aka Gilmore Girls: Beginnings (USA: rerun title)
- They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? (2002) TV episode .... Shane
- One's Got Class and the Other One Dyes (2002) TV episode ....
Shane
- Haunted Leg (2002) TV episode .... Shane
- Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days (2002) TV episode .... Shane
Then in 2008 she did her first stint on "Survivor:Gabon"
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0455993/#actress2000
She has worked as an actress since then but its only been about a
year between shoots of "Survivor" shooting for "Survivor Gabon" was
from June 23 to July 31, 2008 and shooting for "Survivor: HvS" was
shoot between August 9 and September 17, 2009, so a bit over a year,
less when you know she had to recover from her last stint on
"Survivor" and then prepare and clear her calendar for her second
stint, so I wouldn't read into it anything since she has worked
before "Survivor". She was probably modeling in those say eight
months.
Probably so, maybe only tfp but maybe so still.
I am not sure how old she was in 2002 doing GG, or if I am "allowed"
to say she was hot, but she was...
She was born on February 22, 1979 so she will be 31 years old in a
month; therefore she was about 23 in 2002 so you are "allowed".
lol - well, you never know. She was playing a high school girl at
that time.
But I also lusted for Kristen Bell when Veronica Mars started. She
was playing a 16-year-old but she was actually 21 irl...
That's common the cast of "Smallville" were a bunch of very late
teenagers and early 20-somethings playing 14 year olds when
"Smallville" started in 2001 and the most of the cast of Buffy the
Vampire Slayer were early 20-somethings playing 15 year olds when
Buffy started in 1996. Directors want that youthful appearance of
course but with more mature adult actors who look younger than they
actually are that are more serious in their work I guess. Possibly
the child labor laws are also a big factor. You can have a 20
something working until 5am while you can't do that to a real 14 year
old possibly.
Probably that has much to do with it, and maybe skill level as well.
Although there are not typically a lot of skill in TV acting...
Now I think you are being unfair in that. I have seen GREAT TV
acting. especially on shows like "Battlestar Galactica" (the recent
new one) "Dexter" and "Breaking Bad" in particular. Maybe in general
you mean since TV acting could be considered entry level work
depending, but I have seen real acting gems. John Lithgow on "Dexter"
recently as a creepy serial killer for example. Jennifer Carpenter as
Dexter's sister Debra is another who routinely delivers great acting
chops. Wonderful.
