Brian, defending his game knowledge, said:

out play and out last and why the jury is supposed to base their votes
on those criteria and not on the "broader" context of the game."

Oooh, Bri, SO close.

You know that I hold you in high esteem...but your flaw here is when you
said:

"the jury is supposed to base their votes on those criteria and not on
the "broader" context of the game."

YOU know that there are no 'supposed to' restrictions on the votes.

If a survivor were to dump a pile of crap on your head one night...that
survivor could play the most strategic game EVER...but they won't get
your vote.

That is an extreme example of course, but it shows that you can vote or
NOT vote for any reason at all.

You...as a purist (as I said before) should realize this.

I can't remember if it was in this thread or another but I asked Elmo if he
thought the anything goes voting criteria would apply if Jaison had been one
of the finalists and the jury voted against him because he's black. I bet MB
would never let us even see that and would order the jury to state different
reasons. Yes, it's an extreme example but I think it shows that there are
restrictions. If this season becomes a "standard" for jury voting we're
going to see people spend way more time psychoanalyzing each other before
trying to send them to the jury then worrying about actually making it to
the end. Blindsiding someone will become way too risky because you might
hurt their feelings and admitting to Jeff you made a good move in the game
will be a big "no no." Basically, the game will suffer because it will
become way too nice.
