Pirate Master had numerous other flaws, but was not as bad as
reported.
And, shuffling the tribes would increase the social and strategic
dynamics because the players would have to work harder to maneuver in
a continuously changing landscape...
The big downside of Pirate Master was that all the challenges were
essentially the same - race through the jungle to find something and
get it back to the start line.
One PM thing that was interesting was the 'sabotage' where the first
team to get to a checkpoint was able to set a trap for the second team
that inevitably cost them time in the race. There WERE some challenges
where the slower team caught up but normally the team that was ahead
at the checkpoint ended up winning.
But the major blemish was the lack of variety in challenges.
A little note if some people missed this: Russell Hantz originally
applied for Pirate Master:
8. Russell Hantz, 36, oil tanker, Dayton, TX
- APPLIED (?) for Pirate Master, but is friends with Boo Bernis of
Fiji and connections may be involved
- Was then called back to go to finals for this season
- Was a big fan of Survivor

It's funny that on his website (www.russellgotscrewed.com) it says that he
is a relatively new fan of Survivor. Makes you wonder if he lied on his
Pirate Master application to make himself look good to MB.
