Tonight's episode was a flat out, all out stupidity contest.
And it was hilarious !!!
RANDY: 5 star stupid.
Randy's plan is to piss everyone off so that they vote for him. At that
point, he will pull out the HII and take control of the game. This is
actually a brilliant plan except for two small problems.
1. Randy does not have an HII and is at this point hoping that Bob will
find one AND give it to him.
2. Randy's plan to take control of the game is to vote off Suzie in a fit
of vengeance that won't do anything to get him a better position in the
game.
So, if Randy outwits everyone and tricks them into hating him (ignore for a
moment that they already hate him), the result will be that he gets booted.
Any plan where you get eliminated IF you succeed at your plan is not well
thought out, Randy.
So true. If anything Susie has demonstrated a willingness to go with
whatever flow is moving forward. Removing Crystal or Ken would have
been better. But since the overall plan concept was a long shot, it
doesn't matter now.
But - if Bob had given Randy a REAL HII, his plan would have worked
perfectly and then they could have an advantage going into the next
TC, which is odd-numbered and will only require a fourth person.
BOB: 3 star stupid.
Bob's plan is to go on a long walk and enjoy himself. Mission accomplished.
Upon his return, his plan is to give away his only secret to a person that
is not on his side, Sugar. he then decides to follow Sugar's plan of
handing Randy a fake HII so that Randy will be booted. At the same time, he
will vote with Randy so that Randy won't know that he has been betrayed by
Bob? Honestly, I cannot think of any intelligent reason for Bob to have
voted to oust Suzie. His choice to do as Sugar asked also made no sense
since it was contingent upon them having enough votes to oust Randy even
without the fake HII. So, Bob's sum total of 'intellect' in this episode is
that he wanted to suck up to people (well, Sugar, who is not in the center
of the alliance anyway) playing a lame joke?
Right on again, but maybe 4 star stupid. His telling Sugar about the
fake HII was a pretty wasted use of the thing, so he ends up with
virtually no power from having made it. He seemed to be playing this
time just to survive one more TC, which is not the way to win.
Added to that, choosing "clue" again was pretty dumb, since even *I*
would be hard to convince that there was much chance of another HII
being on EI.
Sugar: 4 star stupid.
Sugar finds out Bob is a lackey handing her good info for the game. She
could use this fake HII to her benefit later on in the game or she could
waste the opportunity completely by choosing to put the fake HII in the
hands of someone that her current alliance already has the numbers to vote
off. What is the point in wasting this valuable tool on a practical joke?
About the only way to credit Sugar here is to figure that she went a long
way towards earning the F2 votes of Crystal, Suzie, and Ken. Still, the
game is supposed to be about outwitting people, not claiming superiority
because you faked someone into using a fake HII when you had the numbers to
vote them out anyway...and that other person already 'outwitted' you by
tricking you into having the alliance voting for them.
Agreed. Sugar showed little signs of intelligence again this episode.
However, she did display a cruel streak hitherto hidden.
Crystal: 3 star stupidity.
Crystal was invisible this episode. As far as the edit showed, she cared
more about $500 than food or clues or Exile island. her only real moment
this episode was her acting the idiot at the final TC vote. A move that
will not earn any final votes from the jury.
Definitely stupid to not have bid on anything. But she may have been
holding out for letters from home, since she was not in the group that
received them early in the game. But I don't think so. As far as we
saw, there were no bad items so she might as well have gotten
something.
Matty: 5 star stupidity.
Matty was told that he isn't F3 material in his current alliance. He
should know this, but apparently doesn't. Worse yet, Matty thinks that Bob
rather than Randy is his main challenge competition? Yes, Bob performed
better today, but overall, Bob has been a joke compared to Randy in the
challenges. Matty is still voting off his best chance to reach F2 each
week. Worse yet, he comes in second in the IC, showing that he doesn't even
know when not to try and win so as to get some attention off himself.
I would only give him 4 stars this week. Stupid for sure not to
realize he is near the bottom of the pecking order, but perhaps trying
to deflect the votes to Bob was not so dumb. What else was he going
to try to do ??? That is the biggest hurdle when facing an
even-numbered TC. You have to get two people to flip instead of one.
But a smarter move would have been to let the others decide who to
target and just go along. But dumbass Matty just can't control
himself and MUST express his own idea and try to get everyone else to
agree. On second thought, maybe five stars after all...
Corrine: 3 star stupidity.
Corrine did nothing this episode. She plotted with Randy down a stupid
path, but at least the path buys her 3 more days. Short of that, nothing
intelligent from her, as always.
Again, not much to do. Even swaying Bob and Matty to her cause would
have been little help, as it would just be a tie. She can't really
think any of the other four would be persuaded by her "charm" at this
point. As for Randy's plan, she wasn't the target either way so why
not go along ??? And - if Bob's HII had been real, it would have
worked out great for her.
Suzie: 3 star stupidity.
Like Matty, Suzie is on the outside looking in. She has no votes on the
jury, can't possibly win the game, and is doing nothing at all to change
that course.
She hasn't shown a spark of anything the whole season, so why start
now. I would give her 4 stars just out of habit. Her best shot would
be to help Corrine take out Ken or Crystal, and carefully play both
sides to narrow herself into a F-3, then hope for a long shot in the
last IC or to be taken along as a loser F-2 opponent. But she's
enjoying watching the previous power players who she feels dissed her
being taken out one by one.
Ken: 2 star stupidity.
Ken won the IC, though he lucked out in having his first try failure not
knock down most of his tiles (instead knocking down only a few). Ken does
get credit for sending Bob to Exile, though Ken's bidding strategy seemed
like nothing more than random luck. Sure, he got to send Bob to Exile and
take Bob's money, but what did it buy him? Anything? So, Ken wins as least
stupid this episode, but only because he was barely shown trying to
strategize in the episode at all.
Agreed. He's king of the losers and the losers are ruling the roost
at the moment. I don't see anyone really pissed off at him except for
the company he keeps, so he probably has the best shot at winning if
he makes the F-2.
this group is the worst group of minds this game has ever seen.
That is generally said almost every season. This season I think the
statement is quite accurate.
