I think you're actually giving them too much credit. I think once they
installed GC as their "leader," they genuinely tried to listen to his
ideas and let him take the lead on fire-starting. For a grand total of
maybe 15 minutes.

That isn't how I remember it. What I remember is someone GC? commenting on
Ken starting the fire, then someone else stating that GC should *have* to do
it since he was the leader...like firestarting was some sort of ritual that
the tribe leader does personally as a rite of passage.


What was said is that GC should GET to do it, since he was the leader
and would then be their "hero" for doing it.
