S16 New Rankings Contest Week 9 standings and entries

The deadline has passed, and even though B.N. and Dr. Buzzard came in after 5:00, I was even later in closing the entries, so I'm going to count them. (I may not go so easy on you guys next time--especially you, B.N., just because you're ahead of me. ;-Þ) Four other players, however, got locked out this time around. Of the 11 players who did play this week, eight let it ride while the other three thought the merge was a good time to switch it up. This gives me a chance to calculate the "swing" for this week: Eliza +2, Jason +1, Natalie -1, Alexis -1, Parvati -1. For example, this means this week two more players believe Eliza will be voted out than last week. To quote Itoshi on what the swing means:

"Positive numbers mean the finalist is perceived as weaker this week than last week, while negative numbers indicate a feeling that the finalist will last longer than earlier expected."

Remember, the tribes are merging tonight and every IC from here on is individual, so if your pick to get voted out wins immunity, there's no second chance this time; it's all or nothing. Eliza is the most popular pick to get the boot tonight with seven out of 15 votes. If that happens, B.N. will score 7 points and keep his lead. Regardless of the outcome, Obveeus will remain 3 points back. If my namesake's fake immunity idol does him in, as four players think it will, Newton will score 7 points and take over first. No other outcome would result in a lead change, but if Cirie gets blindsided, Calliope and Horny Goat would gain some much-needed ground. Keyboard Fungus would benefit from Parvati's elimination, while Roarmeister is hoping James gets ganged up on. BTW, I'm going to keep the color-coding of the names on my spreadsheet, and I just noticed no one is forecasting either tribe to pagong the other; the closest was Marilyn, who sees five of the six Airais being voted out at the next five TCs. In fact, several players believe the F3 will be at least a majority of Malakal despite being short-handed coming into the merge.
