Sure it is, if the wife isn't cheating then it is a total waste
of money.
Using that logic getting a VD test is a waste of money unless you
come back positive.
No, my logic dictates that getting a VD test is a waste of time if
you haven't had sex, your says a VD test is neccesary even if you are
a virgin because sexually active people get VD.
No. Your logic doesn't dictate that comparison at all.
Let's see
my logic dictates that getting a VD(paternity) test is a waste of time if
you haven't had sex (monogomous relationship), your says a VD test
(paternity test) is neccesary even if you are
a virgin (not a cheating woman) because sexually active people (cheating
women) get VD (pregnant with another mans child).
Your comparison
would only be dictated if no child was born. And I agree that having a
paternity test when there is no child is just a big a waste of money as
having a VD test if you're a virgin -- only more so since you can get VD
without having intercourse.
Save the straw.
Now I don't know what your problems are
I don't like seeing guys get screwed over in family court.
More men screw over their own children then women screwing over men
who are not the fathers of their children.
Even if that's true (and I don't believe it is) it's besides the point.
The fact that other things are wrong doesn't negate the need to fix this.
I think your needs will require far more assistance then legislation.
The problem is most women would go nuts if their husband wanted to get
a
paternity test.
Perhaps because most men would be nuts to ask for one.
Why? What is nuts about wanting absolute confirmation that your child is
really your child?
If you are unable to trust your partner then you really shouldn't be having
sex or even considering having a child.
So the guy would have to have the test done is secret and keeping
secrets from your spouse if not a good way to have a long term
relationship.
Accusing your spouse of cheating is not a good way to have a long
term relationship.
Exactly, better the state accuse her.
IOW's you want the government to intrude into other people's bedrooms and
take money from other people's wallets because you are too cowardly to say
to your wife "I don't trust you and I want a paternity test".
You're truly pathetic.
The other, larger, issue is after a fairly short timeframe many
courts don't care who the biological father is anymore, the husband
is deemed financially responsible, period.
Then the answer is to change existing support laws rather than
subject noncheating couples to an unneccesary $165 fee.
Until we can change the existing laws (a very tough proposition), this
is a small step in negating he damage being done.
It would seem that cost is your main issue, so let me ask you this, if
the test cost $20 would you still oppose it? What if Warren Buffet
agreed to pay all the costs and so it was free?
