It's never a good thing when Govt. involves themselves in our lives
that much.
While I generally agree that the less the government is involved with
the better, since the child support laws are so lopsided the only
reasonable precaution a guy can take is to give any child he thinks he's
fathered a paternity test, at birth. But since telling your
wife/girlfriend that you want a paternity test is almost guaranteed to
cause massive grief (regardless of the outcome) the only reasonable way
to go about it is to test for paternity for every live birth. Then the
guy can't get into trouble for asking for one. It's mandatory.
. I have quite a few comments to make
Most of which are apparently nonsense, but rant on
on this subject-So in your plan, the
mother is required to list every man that could be the father, right?
No. No one ever said that but you. She obviously claims a father now.
There's a test for HIM. No one else. Unless she lied.
Does
the man also have to name all his partners?
No. No one ever said that but you.
Ok, so who pays for all these
mandatory tests?
There aren't "all these" tests. No one ever said that but you. There's
ONE test. Unless the mother lied . . .
the mother? the potential fathers?
If there are more tests, it's because the mother lied. Yes, she can pay
for them, if she wants to try to stick somebody with child support.
My taxes? My insurance
company, which will then raise my rates? Whether or not they are for the
actual father, the test has to be paid for regardless.
The ONE test?
Child support is not
intended to be a punishment for the father,
Good. We agree. It's being used in the cases cited as punishment for
men the mother defrauded, who aren't the father at all. Catching the
mother who lied is meant to stop that.
or a boon to the mother,
That's exactly what it's being used for. Good. We agree. Catching the
mother who lied is meant to stop that.
but
SUPPORT for the child.
Then the real father can pay support while the mother does a well
deserved prison sentence. But with one mandatory test, she won't GET
the chance to defraud an innocent man, and won't HAVE to go to prison.
Win-win.
Many single mothers I know are supporting their
children with no assistance from the father, but I don't personally know any
women who are getting rich off of child support payments. I do know a lot of
men who think their exes are.
And a lot of their exes are defrauding them and need to be caught and
sent to prison for it. That's what this ONE test is meant to prevent.
And anybody who thinks that mandatory testing
would slow down irresponsible behaviour has evidently never been in the
backseat of a car with a willing partner.
No. No one ever said that but you.
We're talking about ONE test to reduce the level of criminal fraud by
women.
Remember the song, "paradise by
the dashboard light"? In the heat of the moment, things like potential
pregnancy and child support payments have never mattered enough to stop many
people from being irresponsible.
Nobody's trying to stop people from being irresponsible. They're trying
to stop criminal mothers from defrauding innocent men.
I hardly think
Okay, that we can agree on
that mandatory DNA testing
would.
No. No one ever said that but you.
If you are so whipped that you are afraid of asking for a DNA test
when you think it is called for, you shouldn't be having sex with the woman
anyway.
That of course isn't the reason for mandatory testing. No one ever said
that but you.
And finally, if the government really needs to get involved, it
would be much better if they would concentrate on making the existing laws
more equitable for all involved, rather than adding more inequitable
laws.
This isn't an inequitable law. It's one meant to prevent crime. You
could only consider it inequitable if you were a criminal, or a
potential criminal, or a supporter of criminals.
( I'm assuming they would be inequitable based on the previously
mentioned disclosure and payment questions.)
So you think "The criminal mother isn't allowed to defraud innocent men
and force them to pay for children that aren't their own" is inequitable?
When you 'assume' you make an 'ass' out of 'u' and, well, in this case,
'u'
