It's never a good thing when Govt. involves themselves in our lives

While I generally agree that the less the government is involved with
the better, since the child support laws are so lopsided the only
reasonable precaution a guy can take is to give any child he thinks he's
fathered a paternity test, at birth. But since telling your
wife/girlfriend that you want a paternity test is almost guaranteed to
cause massive grief (regardless of the outcome) the only reasonable way
to go about it is to test for paternity for every live birth. Then the
guy can't get into trouble for asking for one. It's mandatory.

. I have quite a few comments to make on this subject-So in your plan, the
mother is required to list every man that could be the father, right? Does
the man also have to name all his partners? Ok, so who pays for all these
mandatory tests? the mother? the potential fathers? My taxes? My insurance
company, which will then raise my rates? Whether or not they are for the
actual father, the test has to be paid for regardless. Child support is not
intended to be a punishment for the father, or a boon to the mother, but
SUPPORT for the child. Many single mothers I know are supporting their
children with no assistance from the father, but I don't personally know any
women who are getting rich off of child support payments. I do know a lot of
men who think their exes are. And anybody who thinks that mandatory testing
would slow down irresponsible behaviour has evidently never been in the
backseat of a car with a willing partner. Remember the song, "paradise by
the dashboard light"? In the heat of the moment, things like potential
pregnancy and child support payments have never mattered enough to stop many
people from being irresponsible. I hardly think that mandatory DNA testing
would. If you are so whipped that you are afraid of asking for a DNA test
when you think it is called for, you shouldn't be having sex with the woman
anyway. And finally, if the government really needs to get involved, it
would be much better if they would concentrate on making the existing laws
more equitable for all involved, rather than adding more inequitable
laws.( I'm assuming they would be inequitable based on the previously
mentioned disclosure and payment questions.)
