Stephen Colbert, who was raised in the south with 8 or 9 siblings was
asked in an interview how he could have no southern accent at all.
He said that it was a conscious thing as he had noticed that often, when
a movie or TV show wants to portray someone as 'stupid'...they give them
a southern accent.
It's an incorrect assumption of course, but for those who might tend to
BELIEVE that...chicken did a helluva job of reinforcing the stereotype.
All that was missing was banjo music...(though it may have been there.)
Chicken isn't stupid,a stupid person cannot operate a production chicken
farm and be stupid
Unless one lies about their true occupation which seems to the norm in these
'reality' shows here.
