Mutiny is not what I thought.
The captain and officers don't vote. The three on trial don't vote. So
last night that meant that only eight voted. So how can a mutiny happen?
If all eight vote for mutiny, what does the Daddo do? Does he ask the
officers if they want to stand by the captain or mutiny too? If they
stand by the captain, then they get very unpopular.
It will be interesting to see exactly whether or not the officers have to
agree to a mutiny or if it just has to be a unanimous vote (meaning that
only the voting pirates have a say). If the officers have to agree, you are
correct in that they become very unpopular. In that regard, take not that
there is 1 captain and 2 officers AND that 3 people will get black marks
when a new captain comes into power. So, a new captain can force one of the
old guard from the game barring a mutiny against him.
Azmyth is treading a fine line
between being an English-accented buffoon and part of a hippy commune.
Maybe he'll change his mind after the next challenge and keep the money.
Maybe the show will finally change the challenge to something a bit less
repetative such as: first pirate to the treasure gets to keep it all this
time.
Maybe Joe Don will work hard to win the next challenge to be captain
again? Maybe he will get royally pissed off when he doens't get elected
captain again?
I don't see anyone voting Joe Don as captain again. I do see Louie and Jay
both dying to be captain. I wonder if anyone trusts them with that kind of
responsibility?
Now we see outright bribery. Vote this way and here's a thousand
dollars. That will get more interesting when there are less people.
Best part of the episode. The guy obviously took offense to the bribe so he
kept the money and voted the way he wanted anyway. Good for him, but it
likely means 'war' between him and wannabee control freak Jay.
Most of the pirates on trial are clueless. Stupidest keep-me speeches
I've ever heard. I have to hope that we are gettign rid of the dead wood
early, and once we're down to the sharp pirates, we'll see a lot more
entertainment.
The former first mate had a point about forced isolation, but I don't think
that it convinced anyone that she is a 'team player'. The lady booted off
gave a 'this is me, like it or lump it' speeech. that was pretty dumb. The
third lady gave an ok speech by pointing out that she did care and did want
to be in the game. Ultimately, she was correct in assessing that the boot
would be based upon what person was perceived as not really caring about the
experience enough to participate.
The second season will be much better as long as the pirates have a
chance to watch the first season and know what to expect and have a clue
as to what are winning strategies.
Second season? You think that will happen?
