Yow - my father had one in '98 and other than making him crankier than
ever and often embarassing us by not holding back with saying ANYTHING
doesn't seem to have led to permanent damage in his motor skills.

Your typing seems fully functional so hopefully that's a sign that the
damage is less than it might have been. Hope all goes well for you...


Thank you very much. If this were a chat room where I didn't have time to
edit, you would know that I am prone to silly mistakes, especially when
tired. My stroke was in "99, and because it was caused by a blood clot, was
pretty localized. My husband (who was responsible for the bathroom remark)
says that it's a shame my ability to talk was not affected instead of my
ability to make change. He is quite a jokester, and I do talk a lot.
