Yes and no. Yes Terry solved it after getting several more clues, but
they were easy clues. So Bruce and Misty should be faulted for not being
able to think, especially Bruce who went twice.

IIRC, it was heavy thunder and lighting when Bruce went back for his second
turn on the island and he didn't have as much time to search as he would
have liked. By the time Terry got there he now had 4 clues and found the
idol rather quickly (20 min. in his bragging to Sally).

For Horny Goat's addition the Survivor FAQ --
Clue 1 day 1: "You also have a lot of time to think about 'why' fate chose
you to be here, which is also 'why' immunity is already so important ..and
as for your first clue: the whereabouts I've already given it to you."
Note: this was *spoken* by Jeff with the emphasis on the "why" portion, but
there was no evidence that Misty got the written version of the clue which
I think have been more helpful.

Clue 4 day 9: "It is not found here (red scribbled on map) but is hidden
beneath a rock."
He found the talisman under the Y-forked tree, beneath a rock, in a

If the others were given the same chance to decipher the clues and find it
then they would not have a problem with it.

Well, that was kinda the whole point of exile island: you can send
someone there but you might be giving them a huge advantage.

Hence, Terry's issue with wanting to send Aras to the island. I still think
that Casaya are not a smart group of people and sending a strong competitor
to the island in the first place was just friggin dumb and short-sighted.
It was like watching people play chess one move at a time. (Any good chess
player can see the board and the potential moves 5-10 or further into the
game...)

There is, and was never designed to be, anything fair about going to
exile island.

Fair? That's kind of a misplaced word in this context - I see it as a
double edged sword that can both help and hinder people. I think when the
producers first set it up they envisioned the possibility that it would be
used at least once by now and re-hidden on the island. That scenario went
bust when Terry found the island and hasn't needed to use it because he
also won all the individual immunities. The least likely scenario they
could have dreamed up came true. They will likely never use this plot
mechanism again, just like I hope they never bring back booted contestants
again.
