After 11+ seasons of Survivor the show has become somewhat predictable.
However, there is always enough 'new' stuff to keep it interesting.
Tonight's episode, for me, was one of the more suprising ones in a long
time. What happened that wasn't expected?

1. The immunity idol wasn't hidden in some trite obvious place under the
'y' next to the water barrel. I'm so glad the producers didn't set up a
theme that ended with something so 'obvious' to the audience. I can't wait
to see what happens next week: Will the next exile clue lead to the same
empty hole, will the next exile clue say 'tough luck, its gone', or will
the
next exile clue possibly lead to another immunity idol?

2. When the merge to two tribes occurred it looked like a really uneven
split. Terry's kids had a decent amount of muscle and what looked like
90%+
of the brains. I expected his tribe to dominate over the next few weeks.
Instead, they have been repeatedly crushed.

3. After last week's boot of Misty, I expected Terry's kids to divide old
vs. young with Terry/Dan wanting lap dog RuthMarie while Austin/Nick wanted
Sally because otherwise they would be looking at 4th/5th place. Instead,
we
got a division with Terry/Austin vs. Dan/Nick and the division was about
keeping strength vs. keeping loyalty rather than a stuggle for the F5 end
game. I guess losing 2 ICs in a row has made these people realize that
they
need not think that far ahead in the game just yet. As it stands, I feel
bad for them. They had to decide if they wanted to keep Sally (and risk
losing her loyalty at the merge) or keep RuthMarie (and be back at TC again
next time with no more 5player alliance possibilities).

4. I am used to seeing players do stupid things, but just how stupid they
are never ceases to amaze me. Shane gripes about Courtney not working
while
Bobby/Danielle sleep. Later he gripes about Danielle not working while
Bobby sleeps. I guess Shane wants everyone to know he is the perfect F2
partner? Worse than Shane's stupidity, Bobby decides to take a dump in
the
firewood shed...I wonder if he knows that wood smoke is what adds all the
flavor to barbeque? I wonder if he realizes that being a lazy bumb that
pisses everyone off is actually the smartest thing he did this episode?

'Kay?
