I don't think Tom made a vote based upon bing 'mad'. By the
end he, like a few others, realized that Shii-Ann was right about
who was really controlling things and who was really a threat.
I think part of the vote was based on recognizing Amber's
"gameplay" of wrapping Rob around her finger using the
only talent she had; sex, but most of it was anger at Rob
for screwing them over.
Even the 'big lie' on Lex was basically nothing for Rob. He didn't
do squat except make a vague promise duringa 5 second passby.
Amber had to sell that lie for several days to stay in the game.
Except you're ignoring that Rob had been buddies with Lex
(and knew Kathy) since his stint on S4 and that's why Lex
was willing to boot loyal Jerri to keep enemy Amber.
Lex was counting on the friendship he had with Rob outside
of the game to carry him farther within the game, Amber's
"pleading" with Kathy was nothing more then a put-on for
the TV audience.
It was obvious from Amber's shitty performance (she was
laughing as she tried to "convince" Kathy) that either Lex
& Co or MB didn't want it known that many of the players
had made alliances prior to going to the island.
Had say, Trekkie Rob or Alicia made the promise to Lex,
Amber would have been gone, as their word meant nothing
to him.
Or have you forgotten the intense anger Lex displayed toward
_Rob_ (and the tears from Kathy) when he realized that he had
been screwed over?
I didn't see them railing against "mastermind" Amber over the
betrayal.
