He does. You should have kept reading. There were plenty of "I" quotes in
there...

Caller: How involved are you with the interview process?

Jeff: People send in tapes, we have a big casting team. Lynn, she goes
around the country, interviews about 1000; we bring anywhere from 50-75 to
LA. Often that is the first time we've met them in person. Lynn knows what
we need and want and we sit in a room and they are sequestered and they sit
in their rooms waiting until we call for them. (He said they get times to
work out and not just sit in there all day but they are sequestered) It's
fun, it's a devilish good time. They want something and you are standing in
their way. I am waiting for payback; I've been sitting in the seat with
nothing at stake, I know my day will come.

Caller: Was Julie in the hotseat?

Jeff: Oh yeah, I was first to see her when she walked in the room and she
sat down and we went at it pretty hard. I brought up something personal, she
had just found her real sister and got very emotional and I didn't buy it.
She left the room crying and didn't think much of me.

You've either managed to lose track of the argument or you snipped your
original comment deliberately. Here it is again:

What does that (or my response) have to do with Jeff being aware of Gary's
plans to lie about his occupation? We were discussing Jeff's knowledge (or
lack thereof) regarding Gary's actual background.
