Yep, mothers have been killing kids since pre-history. We just hear

And so have men. But there was never a dearth of reporting on that.-

I imagine the reporting has followed more or less the same apttern-
crimes that were reported only locally (if at all) 100 years ago now
make national news.

So we hear a lot more about either men or women killing families, and
child abduction/disappearances. They happened as much (more I'm
guessing) last century, but awareness was not as high.

50 percent of murders of children by a parent are committed by mothers.

Can you honestly say that 50 percent of the news stories you see about
child murders are about female perps?

40 percent of spouse homicides are committed by wives. Do you believe
that 40 percent of news stories about spouse homicide feature female
perps?

What I often see is when a female murders a child (or adult), not always but too often, the media still wants to blame it on the manipulations or participation of a bf or husband. I watch the show, "women who kill", or whatever it's called, once and a while, and it makes me sick how often they still want to blame it on a male partner whether he's physically involved or not.

This all stems from the old fashioned belief that women can't do anything without a male's influence or participation. I can be a feminist (I know you hate those Mike). But part of being a feminist is taking responsibility for the bad stuff women can and do do with or without a man's influence. Women abuse spouses, women kill kids, women are serial killers, and women can do all that stuff with or without a male partner's help or influence.
