Yeah, stoning is so gender sensitive. Why can't we go back to the good
old days of Widow Suttee? In today's morality free era, why is
barbarism so politically correct? Why can't we have more
clitoridectomies? Honor Killings? Acid Attacks? Prostitution
Trafficking? Why do men have to be stone and women not get the same
punishment?

Anyway, 100 lashes is nothing to sneeze at. A person might
very well not survive. Jesus was scourged by the Romans with
far fewer lashes than that, and that was a pretty big deal.

That's right. I understand you can die from it. Actually, this is the
first case of stoning to death of a man I've noticed. I'm more familiar
with seeing cases where women were stoned to death for sexual offences,
though I think most articles I've read have mentioned the differences in
how the victims are buried before the stoning.
