Balloon Boy's Mother -- It Was All a Hoax
Posted Oct 23rd 2009 5:15PM by TMZ Staff, NTVLand

The mother of the "Balloon Boy" has finally come clean, admitting
the
whole ridiculous fiasco was the hoax everybody knew it was anyway.

In a search warrant affidavit that was released today, Mayumi Heene
told sheriff's deputies she and Richard "knew all along that Falcon
was hiding in the residence."

In the document, it says "Mayumi described that she and Richard
Heene
devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier ... she and
Richard
had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well
as
the media regarding this hoax."

Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden has said he will recommend
charges
against the family including conspiracy, contributing to the
delinquency of a minor, making a false report to authorities and
attempting to influence a public servant.

Is this true? If so, why haven't charges been filed? Anybody?

Is there a rush? The FAA investigation isn't complete.

Kris

If the mom confessed, what's the hold up? The Sheriff doesn't need to
wait for the FAA. So I'd like to know what's going on. Looks to me
like
someone is waiting for it to all blow over (no pun intended).

That's how it looks to me, too - maybe not worth the trouble to pursue
them. And the one thing they really wanted, their own show, they won't
get
anytime soon.

I'm thinking that should be included in their sentencing, assuming
they're
ever charged: no financial gain - not sure how they could be legally
precluded from getting a reality show, but be good to set a precedent for
others who might pull stunts to get attention.

I bet someone's making money this Halloween on flying saucer costumes.

Check out this remake of the classic Charlie Brown Halloween cartoon
that
was on Jimmy Kimmel the other night. Charlie Brown starts at about :
45.
