I love the story of Christian's reunion so much, it always makes me
tear
up. Being a cat-person, I totally believe the bond.

I would not have expected any bond after a year much less the obvious
deep
and abiding one evident in the video.

I wonder if there is more information on this story available, but I
don't
really want to spoil the awe I enjoyed at the video.

According to Wiki (not the best ref, I know), the story is true and
they ahd a second reunion about a year later when the Lion was
considerably bigger, thatn the large cat in the first video.

Two things I wonder.

First - When the lion jumped up on the guy, did he have - just for a
second or two - the image that the lion could kill him without even
trying?

And second - Christian was obviously habilitated to humans. In the
African wild, did this bring danger on both Christian and his pride?

Mick

No, the guys didn't for a second imagine Christian would hurt them.

It's hard to imagine those guys being successful at getting the lion
back to the wild while being THAT out of touch with reality. The lion
had doubled in size and could kill them just with enthusiasm.

If you look at more of the earlier videos of Christian and the two guys,
you'll see that it was a game the blond guy regularly played with Christian
from when he was little, getting him to jump up into his arms, even as the
big cat got big. Surely, it was the memory of that early play experience
that prompted Christian to jump up on the blond guy time and again at that
first reunion. I don't think the two guys were fearful one bit. Tho they
should have been! Espec of the "wife" ya ask me!

There's another version of this video - same one bascially, but with
different music (& no lyrics) - that I prefer. There are actually lots of
versions on utube. I have copies of several I watch every once in awhile. I
love this story.

And, of course, the damned fool woman with the caged bear wouldn't for
a second imagine that bear would kill her, either.
