OK, how come no one challenged the OP, who is writing that
Polanski's victim is now "very RICH".
How much of a settlement did she end up with, and if she's so
rich, why is she still working as a bookkeeper?
I read somewhere that it was "189,000 GBP" whatever the hell that
means. It could also be a structured settlement thing rather than a
lump sum, or maybe she ran through it already (she lives in Hawaii,
where property values are notoriously stratospheric). Maybe she likes
working as a bookkeeper.
GBP = British Pounds sterling.
The currency converter says that would be $302,476.20 in USD.
If that's before the attorney fees, she got about $200,000.
That's not "very RICH" in anyone's book. It might allow
you to put a downpayment on a home, pay off a few
bills, etc....but you can't quit working.
I'm also surprised that no one thinks its odd that Sharon Tate's
"victim's advocate" sister isn't holding Polanski to the same
legal/moral standards that she expected of the Manson clan.
I've started lumping all of the Polanski apologists into one pile so I
can tune them out more effectively, because it was getting time-
consuming to throw up in my mouth every time I heard another one come
out of the woodwork about how "unfair" this all is.
Or why did the girl's mother and Angelica Huston both escape
prosecution?
FWIW, Samantha said in 2003 on LKL that her mother only found out
about the rape by overhearing a conversation between Samantha and her
sister, and her mom sounded the official alarm as soon as she did find
out. How any mother would let her 13 yr old daughter go out alone or
with a friend of similar age to be photographed by a much older man is
beyond me. I haven't heard anything said about Angelica Huston's
involvement, other than her testimony that Samantha appeared much
older. Either she didn't give a shit or it was SOP for her to come
home and find Polanski with a crying, drunk 13 yr old.

Yup. Same with Mom. Let's the girl leave, and come back
in that condition....and doesn't (apparently) ask her what
happened.
Frankly, I've always seen it as pimping her daughter out.
Neither the mom nor Polanski are going to admit anything
like that...but it's obvious. Plus, she must have been dating
because Polanski knew about her boyfriend.
