I actually had one pulled; most quick & most painless dental procedure
I've ever had. But it was a rear tooth. Those teeth sitting between other
teeth, if you don't get an implant won't it cause the rest of your teeth
to move around? <shudder> I'm lettin sleeping dawgs lie (even if they are
occ painful).

Exactly. I'm getting rid of the bad tooth when I get home, and
replacing it with an implant or bridge. I don't want it to cause
others problems.....AND I firmly believe in the "downhill slide".
Neglect one thing, pretty soon you've got a mouth that looks
like a meth user's.

I'd never have spent that much money (probably more,
actually, because it was over a period of 18 months)...if I had
known the outcome would be "no difference".

I have one of the worst dental stories ever. Put off going, then one day
the pain became awful, flew to dentist. Who was out of town. Pain worse.
Found another dentist. Pain terrible. Dentist looked at it, gave
novacaine... novacaine did not work, despite shot after shot after shot.
Tooth was cracked a little & I wanted it saved if possible; he drilled and
drilled. Exposed nerve. Dripped novacaine directly on to nerve. Did not
work. Me: yelling VERY loudly in chair, scared folks in waiting room.
Eventually gave me pain killers to take home and eventually they killed the
pain and it didn't come back. Back in to finish work on it next day. Then
done. Following week tooth sorta caved in. He pulled it in about 2 seconds,
zero pain. It came out perfectly halved, vertically, right to the very root.
Talk about throwing good money after bad. Sheesh.
