I'm surprised that most here are ignoring this crime. Why?

OK Kris, you drew me out.
What can a civilized sort like myself say, it was a totally
unacceptable
gesture of opposition to the basic concept of live and let live.
The religio-fascists have long been a focus of my contempt and this
recent deliberate murder by one of their minions only confirms it.

The scary thing about this guy, is that he was an associate
of the man who wrote "The Turner Diaries" - so there's likely
lots of True Believers ready to step up.

I guess if we really knew how many True Believers there were,
we wouldn't want to leave our homes.

I've been wondering all day if "look" and "Anonymous" and the TNB
guy and "Jasper Towing LLC" will disappear.

Serious question for you and Bart: In what way is this shooting more
contemptible than the shooting of Army recruiter William Long? I'm not
trying to start a tit-for-tat listing of who did what when and all the
body counts. Just wanting to compare those two.

You see Poe, we could play tit for tat all day long.  For every right
winger killing, there is also a left winger doing the same.  Who cares
what political bent they are, murder is murder and all murders should
be treated equally.  I wish we would not politicize crimes like this.
Fact is, horrible vicious criminals should in my opinion get the death
penalty.  We need to start ridding our country of the vermin that most
likely will never see the light of day ever again.  What purpose are
the vicious ones contributing to society sitting in prison for the
rest of their lives? Nothing.  Start working with prisoners who show
the ability to one day be rehabilitated and mainstreamed in society
again.  Prisons are breeding grounds for hate.

If you would like a truly honest *opinion* I'll give you mine.  The right
wing 'lone wolves/or groups', have the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Bill
O'Reilly, Hannity, etc., to flame the hatred with their words, night after
night/day after day.  Now I don't watch/listen to them, but I do hear or
read the snippets.  I read about how many times O'Reilly showed the picture
of the doctor, followed by words such as 'somebody's gotta stop this guy'
and more heated rhetoric.

I really can't think of any left wing equivalents as far as the hate-speak
and intensity.

As for Randy Weaver, I always thought the government was at fault in that
one.   Koresch, not quite as clear cut to me, but I haven't studied all the
details on that one, so I reserve my *opinion* on that one.

Olberman for sure. After the election I stopped watching news shows
as much as humanly possible. They would enrage me and stoke my fears
and I got nothing out of them. I don't think either party does a good
job representing its people. As for Limbaugh I listened to him for
years while in the car when I sold pharmaceuticals and I enjoyed him
immensely but then I also enjoyed Howard Stern years ago as well.
Personally I think Rush is given to much credit and I also think he's
a bogeyman for the left. O'Reilly like Limbaugh and Hannity are
ratings driven show playing to their base. I honestly believe they
love their country and are as passionate about it as those on the left
of center. But I'm biased towards conservatives so I kind of have an
agenda when I defend them. After obama won I really got disillusioned
with politics. It hard more to do with conservatives letting us down
when it came time to govern. Bush getting us into Iraq and the like.
I think Bush did a noble job defending us from outside terrorism as
well as domestic terrorism. I have to give him that. But Iraq just
wore on me knowing young men and women were coming home in body bags
and without limbs. That was like a dagger in my heart knowing young
people lost limbs, maimed, crippled and for what. I don't care for
obama because first of all he is way too inexperienced in running a
huge nation like this. But I'm glad he won as I look back on it and
not because of Palin but because McCain didn't have the tools to be
President. He's a fine Senator but wouldn't have made a good
President imo. To me there are many left wing groups out there that
are as dangerous to me as Rush is to you. The older I get the harder
it is to find answers in politics. In a way I like Newt Gingrich to
be the Republican nominee in 2012...he has baggage but I find him to
be someone who looks at all sides of the equation. I can't accept
obama simply because of his youth and inexperience. To some being a
community organizer is a big deal, not to me. Personally I hope he
does not fail but any policy that is socialist in nature if there are
any I hope do fail. I love some social programs, they need tweaking
but I don't like our government owning companies like GM. I think
obama's heart is in the right place but he comes from a whole
different type of background than me. I couldn't begin to understand
the pain and torment he went through as a bi-racial child growing up.
In certain places white people were very mean and hostile to
minorities. Sometimes I subscribe to Livie Soprano's opinion of life
from the show "The Sopranos" in which she said I think to AJ while her
character was bed ridden in that it's all a great big nothing. Gerry
Spence did a great job defending Randy Weaver...if anyone is a
moderate its Gerry Spence. As for Koresh like I said they had
multiple chances to arrest him out in public but chose not to. I'll
always believe no Waco, no OKC.
