This could make the use of killfiles illegal. Damn what a tangled
mess!
Well said, btw, the rest of your post. ITA with you (but still
think it would be amusing to watch how a law like this would be so
totally abused for fun and profit).
Wow - this exchange evoked a dim memory I have of an old atc conversation.
It's seems that a group of posters collaborated to collectively "killfile" me. Unfortunately, for them, I never noticed :-) And, when it was brought to my attention, with much fanfare, I thanked them for the inadvertent courtesy :-)
That's REALLY funny!
Note to anyone trying to shun me - I won't notice either. I'll just assume you have nothing to say in response to whatever I post - and that either I've bored you or left you speechless with stunning commentary :-P
Readers/posters here who missed the 1997-2000 period of the atc newsgroup will never understand why some here are held in such contempt. Ya just had to be there.
Note to stupid cow: Now, *there* was a group of posters whose loss was truly significant to this newsgroup.
I must have been obsessed with work around that time. I've come and gone since '94, mostly lurked, recall a bit of the Joe1Orbit thing (you were one of the 30 humans permanently excommunicated! http://homepage.ntlworld.com/doklands/text/joe1orbit.txt).
I just noticed this Joe link is from 1999, so I guess maybe I did pop in during the dates you mentioned. Still, I wasn't persistent, I'd go away for years at a time. Don't even recall my nym(s).
.
Wish I was here more often in the timeframe you mentioned.
