Were you near the shooting during the parade today?

No. Thank God. We thought about going down, but it's
about two hours away, and to get a good spot, we'd have
had to leave here at 3am. Plus, we've been to NOLA's
Mardi Gras many times -- so we went to a small town
(Lafayette) for a change.

Nice people.
Parade just as good.
Didn't get shot.

NOLA's carnival is getting so touristy, that the residents
like to move out for those days....and I think they're all
here in the RV park ;)

Phew - good call! And it sounds like you still get to walk around in public with those hurricane drinks (or have they changed the name of them, after Katrina and all?).

We used to always do NOLA & vicinity annually till Katrina. Need to get back to that. Loved the food, fun, music... and we used to take in smaller towns as well for giant plates of crawfish & meeting the locals.
