Lawyers for Guede, who has dual Italian and Ivory Coast citizenship, said
they would appeal.
Under Italian law the decision to sentence Guede is not confirmed until a
third appeal and so technically he can apply for house arrest where he will
serve his sentence pending the second and third appeals.
