PPD.John Travolta's 16-year-old son, Jett, died Friday morning at the
family's
vacation home in The Bahamas after what the family's lawyer says was a
seizure-related incident.
I don't think it is off topic. His parents have been in complete
denial for years that he was autistic, and some of their
scientology/looney beliefs could had impede past treatment and/or
medication for epilepsy. Much like how Christian Scientist parents can
get prosecuted for not seeking medical treatment for their child. If
Jett didn't have any epilepsy medication, they should get be seriously
looked at for endangerment to manslaughter charges.
This should be investigated, I read much over the years how Travolta
and Preston treated their son as an acute embarrassment, besides denying
he had autism.
---------------------------------------------
I had similar thoughts myself, especially after having heard the autism
rumors and knowing how Scientology *teaches* about such matters. I mean,
who can forget Tom Cruise lashing into Matt Lauer about Brooke Shields
I feel for Travolta and Preston, but have no respect for that scientology
crap.
I'm lambasted about OT topics, so I thought 'better safe than sorry.'

Admittedly this was my first impression, that Scientology is a deadly
cult and I wonder if it played any part in this tragedy, but that
isn't what the article says. There seems to be a lot of jumping to
conclusions here.

---------------------------------
There have been stories from long before today concerning this boy.
June 1, 2007 -- JOHN Travolta, 53, and his wife, Kelly Preston, 44, just
announced they want to try for their third child - even while they fall
under increasing pressure to publicly acknowledge the disability of their
son, Jett.
Travolta has either pretended there is nothing wrong with Jett, 15, or
claimed his condition is Kawasaki syndrome, a disease characterized by high
fever, skin rash and swelling of the lymph nodes.
But parents of autistic children say that Travolta should join Sylvester
Stallone, Doug Flutie, Jenny McCarthy and Toni Braxton, who all have
autistic kids, in raising awareness and research funds to cure the disease.
One magazine editor who has interviewed Travolta more than once says that
the star's son is disabled - and yet he continues to behave as if nothing is
wrong.
"Travolta sits there in interviews talking about how Jett loves to read or
play sports, but it is clear that the boy can barely do either," the editor
said.

It's a shame that he wasn't helped. In all the photo's I've seen of him,
his eyes avoid the camera. In the video, he is being led by his father or
his mother. Certainly not the actions of a teenage boy. Kids like this
need help and early intervention. I simply find it so sad, this poor boy.
How does anyone know he had a seizure? All the reports say 'he was found by
a staff member'. Nobody saw what happened to him.
