MacDonald was convicted of being from California.

I got jury duty .. for voting .. in that courtroom.

One case involved a good old country boy who had
been chased for miles by the Highway Patrol. When
he was finally stopped, he had crashed his pickup
into a barn. He got out and staggered away and
collapsed. The Highway patrolman looked in the
driver's seat and found one empty bottle of
EverClear, and another partially empty bottle.
EverClear is pure grain alchohol .. 200 proof.
The old boy came to court with his Mother and
Grandmother sitting right behind him. He was
wearing clean and pressed overalls, and a red
long-sleeve shirt buttoned all the way to his
chin. He weighed about 250 pounds. Jury retired
and one old lady remarked, "He looks like a good
boy." We didn't even sit down. Not guilty.

Next case: teenager on a motorcycle was run down
by a carpenter-type in a pickup. Kid's leg was
broke. He was charged for failing to yield.
Kid was trying to get medical expenses. He was
lucky the Old Ladies did not give him life in
prison for being a teenager on a motorcycle.

Next case: Wife beater. She made the mistake
of being blonde.

Next case: 5 Blacks started a barroom brawl at
Daryls on Hillsboro Street. Case went on for
over an hour while the laughter rang the rafters.
Everybody who took the stand convicted themselves
of being a bunch of rowdy drunks .. including
the girls. All 5 Blacks were already parole
violaters, so case was dismissed.
