Do you have any more info on it? I mean, do they suspect him of other
crimes?
Chocolic
Yes, they believe he may be involved in more killings in more states.

On a personal note, I am so glad that the family will finally see
justice done. However, they say it will not be easy as old wounds have
again been opened and the father, my friend, who never gave up trying
to bring this man to justice may never know as he is gravely ill as I
type these words. He has dementia and probably would not understand
even if it is told to him. Being a deacon and one of the nicest and
most religious men I have ever met, I am sure soon that he will know
all.

I've thought that too, if I had lost a child many years ago. On the one hand I would be happy with the closure, but then reopening the old wounds would be awfully painful.
What I find really really hard to fathom is that Bowman's (now ex)wife saw the girl tied up in their basement and was threatened she would be killed if she told. Yet in 1981 she did finally contact police. When the authorities found Bowman he admitted she had been in the home yet there wasn't enough evidence to bring charges. Cripes, how many other "in your face I'm guilty" cases are/were there like that over the years before DNA came about that nothing could be done. They had a friggin witness fgs.
Interesting stuff. Keep us updated on any new developments. I'd be interested in any other "cold cases" that could be solved with this guy.
