Exactly how many *crime* posts did you make in that same time period? I updated on numerous crimes followed. Get off my ass and quit trying to censor my posts. If you don't want to see them, put me in the killfile. I've got GOD and numerous others there myself. If I see threads I don't want to read or participate in, I ignore them. And she isn't on the top of that contribution recipient list, like all the others you mentioned. I am so sick of Palin-bashing. Many public figures and politicians on both sides bother me for various reasons, but not to the extent that I want to talk about them all the time, esp off-topic on a ng.tiny dancer wrote:Notice she also isn't on the list of politicians that got huge contributions from Freddie Fannie. And 401(k)s can grow quite nicely with tax-deferred status and employer contributions. Of course, the value of those retirement and investment accounts won't reflect their current value, which is way down at the moment.
I also dispute the fact that taxes weren't paid on the per diem of $17,000 and pawning ones expensive *hobby* of snow-machine racing as a *job*.
Again, you'll note by far the majority of posts I've made this week have been 'on topic'. And I did note this one as 'off topic'.
I am sure Obama and Biden have financial assets squirreled away, too.
The $17K sounds like a dispute between tax attorneys with differing interpretation of a tax law. That's not her fault.
Good you marked this OT, since it is.

I never said I don't post OT sometimes. And when I responded to the thread about her doing well in the debate it was strictly wrt my suggestion about the source of her prior poor performances. I wouldn't say we yapped and yapped, though - it was a short-lived thread, to which I made 3 postings. Yes, I also responded to the thread about the bailout plan. So what?
I've also posted on-topic to threads re: a large porn ring bust in Spain, the two frozen children, and maybe some Casey Anthony stuff. It's been slow from as far as interesting t-c material goes, I must admit.
I am not trying to censor your posts. I am responding to them. In your case, though, you've been obsessed about Sarah Palin since she was announced as McC's VP, and it's really annoying. I'll say whatever the *** I want to about your posts, because as you point out, it's Usenet, and at least *I* am in America, tho not everyone here is. Likewise, feel free to kf me. It's easier for my to just ignore you when I want to. I will admit, since this seem to have come to a head, that I had a lot more respect for you before all this Palin nonsense began.
Perhaps because Sarah Palin is antipathy to everything the womens movement has fought for these last 40 plus years. I remember a time prior to Roe vs Wade. I don't want her in the business of my daughters reproductive rights nor do I want her views on religion, creationism, animal rights, to name a few, to garner any legitimacy. I certainly don't want her input in the next Supreme Court Judges to be appointed.
As for loss of respect, I don't base my voting opinions on one issue, what is going to happen to *my* money. I have children, grandchildren, who will hopefully live long enough to grow old themselves. I am interested in *their* welfare, their health care, their ability to secure employment and live the american dream. These last eight years have fucked up lots of their prospects for many years to come.

My point about respect is that in all other matters of t-c posted here you've seemed objective and fair-minded, at least to me, and I held you in high regard for that. In addition I felt you had s lot to offer in the way of a victim's perspective of child abuse, again, offered up objectively.
Wrt Palin, you seem to be so rabidly against her you cannot think straight.
That's funny, because I think all the reasons I posted above are legitimate, rational points. Womens rights, separation of church and state, the future of the supreme court for many years to come. The way one views animals, shooting at helpless creatures, for sport, from the air.
They may be legit to *you*, but that does not make them indisputable facts. I, too, take issue with many of the liberal stances of Obama, and the possible changes to supreme court appointees troubling to consider. I just choose not to discuss them here.
I admit in the beginning my views on her were perhaps a bit of a knee jerk reaction, so I made it my business to read everything I could on her. I firmly believe she abused her power of office in regards to her ex-bil. From all I've read on the matter, so did a cross section of others, democrates and republicans, across party lines.
The bottom line of troopergte hasn't yet been determined. I guess you're cool with a dude who uses a stun-gun on his 10-year old kid. Whatever. I'd probably have fired the guy from what I know of the situation.
And the more I've seen of her, the more firmly my beliefs are that she *uses* her 'female-ness' to her advantage when ever she can, while claiming sexism when it works against her. Something women like Hillary Clinton and Gloria Stienham *never* did. And I personally abhor that about her, as a woman. The 'take me seriously, on my merits, but when I'm in trouble, I'm not opposed to doing a bit of flirting, winking, and using the fact that I'm a woman.' It's one thing to play the games in everyday life and a whole different matter to *use* it out in the world when you supposedly want to be considered an EQUAL. Take the 'lipstick on a pitbull' remark. I bet Hillary cringed in her pantsuit over that one.
Everyone uses what they have at their disposal. I've never seen Palin openly flirt, flaunt, or whatever. Sure, she uses her personal affects, but they all do, male and female. Palin winks, Biden flashes a phony smile. What's the problem?
As for friendships, lots of my friends have differing views from my own. I have friends who are extremely religious. Unless they are overtly attempting to convert me, we co-exist perfectly fine, with some being my dearest of friends. Topics can get heated at times, but I don't try to make them atheist and they don't try to baptize me.
I still consider you to be a friend. Friends don't have to agree on everything. And sometimes my friends will rant and rave at me about something, if it's something they consider to be important at that time in their life. Once things quiet down again, we forgive and forget. The deeper *friendship* is always there beneath the surface.
But, see, here's the thing. I have tried to be pretty neutral except to say clearly I am generally conservative, but I know for a fact at least one person has turned against me over this, and she know who she is. Also, I see you and some others off the charts to the left with your postings, then I see that Ronald Helm guy chastising Nancy R for disagreeing with youze guys here, and it is as if he is trying to manipulate her. It is really weird and creepy to me. That's not how friends treat friends when their opinions differ.
You have been
missed on the group and I would be happy if you were to participate once again. I've continually attempted to post other stuff, besides politics. But with the elections upcoming, I don't think one can expect political talk to not be present, as it is continaully on the news, print, even the ET type shows. It premeates the airwaves. Me personally, I wish we followed the British system of limiting campaign time.

Unfortunately you were the primary poster of such materials, and your posse there to cheer each other on. What have you posted beside anti-Palin ***? The Palin baby name generator? That's deep, and incredibly relevant to what really matters.
