I read the book about former Doctor Michael Swango by James Stewart.
His fiancee was the nurse that committed suicide, and I believe she had
some depression issues for some time, but lost it in South Dakota, when
Swango was found out about his past. (Swango was lying to everyone about
his past, that his felony was from a "barroom fight") her name was
Kirsten Kenney and they met in Virginia.

Swango was found out, when he applied to the AMA, thinking his ruse
was solid. His pathology went rampant after Kirsten Kenney broke up the
engagement, and committed suicide later in Virginia. He went to
Zimbabwe, and killed numerous patients via poisoning. He was caught when
he had to apply for a Saudi Arabian Visa to work there as a doctor, and
the only way he could get a visa was to come back to the states. Swango,
IMHO, was a sociopath.

I was doing some surfing and ran across this article from 2000 that states that Kenney's mom had clipped some of Kenney's hair before she was buried. When they tested it they found she had some poison in her system. Also there are some quotes in her diary before she died stating she was having blurred vision and nausea.
