Man found buried in beach sand was strangled
San Francisco Chronicle Staff Report
Friday, June 13, 2008

(06-13) 10:12 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- The death of a 41-year-old man
whose body was found in January buried face down at Ocean Beach in San
Francisco with only his feet sticking through the sand has been ruled
a homicide, authorities said today.

The victim, who was identified as Paul Lenz, was found Jan. 15 by two
youths trying to build a bonfire on the beach.

An autopsy showed that Lenz apparently was strangled, said Rich
Weideman, spokesman for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Lenz's body was severely bruised and several ribs were broken.

He was naked, except for a pair of socks.

Doncha just hate these guys who leave their socks on? LOL... sorry...
I couldn't resist.

U.S. Park Service police said Lenz was not from California and had
been identified through his fingerprints. Their investigation is
continuing.

Why the mystery as to which Paul Lenz got stood on his head and had
sand pounded down their azz?
