Evidence psych class I took. Girl went to room
where 8 guys were standing in a line. One of the
guys handed her a book, and stepped back in
line. She left the room. The guys changed
places, and also changed some of their clothes.
She came back and identified the wrong guy.
Guy went to room with 8 girls standing in line.
Same deal. He came back and quickly identified
the correct girl.
This test was repeated over and over with
strangers from the psych classes. The girl
identifying-a-guy-in-line test never got beyond
mere chance. The guy IDing the girl in line
was no contest ... nearly 100%.
Conclusion: girls go to a lot of effort to create
individual differences that guys will notice. Guys
make no effort at all to be different from each
other. They all look alike to the girls within
certain norms. One girl even said that guys
"bully" her with their eyes, so she never looks
at strangers.
