Had this guy been deported after his prior driving record
violations,
these people would be alive today. This drunk had a long prior
record.
Suspect in triple fatal wreck under immigration detainer

Raleigh, N.C. - A man accused of driving drunk and causing a triple
fatal
wreck Sunday has been placed under an immigration detainer, the
Wake
County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Raleigh police say Francisco Martinez went the wrong way on the
inner
beltline and hit a car, killing three people. Martinez is in jail
under
a
$126,000 bond.
He is charged with DWI, three counts of felony death by motor
vehicle,
two
counts of felony serious injury by motor vehicle, driving the wrong
direction and not having a driver's license.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance today in a Wake
County
courtroom.
Guillermo Zintzun Jimenez, 26, Dagoberto Zintzun Jimenez, 21, and
Santiago
Pascual Tellez, 14, were killed when a van that police said was
heading
the wrong way on the Inner Beltline collided head-on with the Lexus
sedan
driven by Guillermo Jimenez.
The van was westbound in an eastbound lane and collided with the
Lexus
near the on-ramp from Capital Boulevard, police said. Dagoberto
Jimenez
and Tellez weren't wearing seat belts, police said.
Relatives said the Jimenez brothers and Tellez, a family friend,
were
coming home from a party when the wreck occurred. Tellez, a student
at
East Wake Middle School, was supposed to come home earlier with his
brother, but he wasn't ready to leave the party when his brother
did,
relatives said.
Two other passengers in the car survived the crash.

You can thank "homeland security" and the bleeding hearts for
this..........
Kitty
Whom do we thank when white, Anglo-Saxon 6th generation Americans get
drunk and kill people?
In our area anyway, the statistics were cited a few months ago. IIRC,
hispanics were responsible for far more than their share of drunken
driving
*accidents* than their proportion numbers in the population. It's an
unfortunate fact of life. I can't recall if they were specified as
illegals, but still, IIRC the numbers were almost 2 to 1.
And you would use that statistic to restrict immigration?
I would use it to deport illegals who have prior records of DWI, like
this
particular guy in the original article. Unfortunately for the three dead
young men, it wasn't done. As an aside, the two brothers who were killed
in
this *accident* were the last remaining sons in their family. A third
brother was also killed in a fatal *accident* a couple years ago. So
their
parents are now left childless. No future grandchildren to enjoy, no
family
filled holidays. In case you hadn't noticed, the victims are also
hispanic,
but they are LEGALS.
Where are you finding information about his prior record? This story
says nothing about any previous incidents.
So he apparently gave a bogus address to the authorities.
Driver's bail goes to $500,000 in crash that killed 3
Josh Shaffer, Staff Writer
RALEIGH - A Wake County judge nearly quadrupled the bail amount Wednesday
for a man police say drunkenly drove his van the wrong way down the I-440
Beltline early Sunday, killing two brothers and a 14-year-old boy.
District Court Judge Jennifer Knox raised the bail on Francisco Javier
Martinez, 30, from the $126,000 set Tuesday to $500,000.
Prosecutors also confirmed that federal immigration authorities placed a
detainer on Martinez, an indication that U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement thinks he resides in Knightdale illegally.
Injured in Sunday's crash, Martinez hobbled into court using a walker
Wednesday. Through a translator, he told the judge that he planned to hire a
lawyer, but he declined to give up his right to court-appointed counsel. A
lawyer will be appointed either way, Knox said.
At his hearing, Assistant District Attorney Matt Godwin said that he had
just gotten to look at arrest warrants and that there may be potential for
more serious charges.
Martinez is charged with driving while impaired, three counts of felony
death by motor vehicle, two felony counts of serious injury by motor
vehicle, and driving without a license.
Martinez is a native of Mexico, according to records filed with the
City-County Bureau of Identification.
Police say Martinez was the driver and only occupant of a Chevrolet van
headed in the wrong direction on the Beltline between Wake Forest Road and
Capital Boulevard early Sunday when it slammed into a Lexus sedan.
Three of the sedan's occupants -- Guillermo Zintzun Jimenez, 26; Dagoberto
Zintzun Jimenez, 21; and Santiago Pascual Tellez, 14 -- were killed. Two
others were injured.
Police reported Martinez's address as 1925 Village Squire Circle in
Knightdale, but CCBI records show his address as 240 Russell Drive in
Wendell. That same record showed him working as a painter for Tomas Castro
in Knightdale, but Castro said Wednesday that Martinez now works by himself.
Martinez is facing 59 months in prison for each felony death by motor
vehicle charge. Records show other traffic charges dating to 2004. His case
is set for June 18.
